Terms of Service
Last updated: July 6, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Pineapple Venture House LLC ("Oyster," "we," "us") governing your use of the Oyster app and website. By creating an account or using Oyster, you agree to these terms.
The short version: Oyster is a tool for creating and sending invoices. You're responsible for what you put on your invoices and for how you use them. We provide the tool "as is," we don't process payments, and we're not a party to any transaction between you and your clients.
1. What Oyster is
Oyster lets you create professional invoices, save your business and payment details, manage contacts, and generate invoice PDFs that you send to your clients yourself. Oyster does not process, collect, hold, or transfer payments. Any payment details you enter are simply displayed on the invoices you create so your clients know how to pay you directly. Oyster is not a payment processor, bank, money transmitter, or financial or tax advisor.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Oyster.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at hello@pineappleventurehouse.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. Your content and your responsibility
You own the content you create in Oyster — your business details, invoices, contacts, and payment information ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store and process Your Content solely to provide the service to you.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the invoices you create and send, including amounts, taxes, and any legal or tax requirements that apply to your business and jurisdiction. Oyster provides formatting and calculation tools, but you are responsible for verifying that your invoices are correct and compliant. Oyster does not provide legal, accounting, or tax advice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Oyster to:
- Create fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful invoices or documents.
- Violate any law or the rights of others.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data.
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Payments between you and your clients
Any transaction, payment, or dispute between you and the people you invoice is strictly between you and them. Oyster is not a party to it, does not guarantee payment, and is not responsible for whether, when, or how you get paid. You are responsible for collecting your own payments and resolving any disputes.
6. Subscriptions and fees
Oyster may offer free and paid plans. If you purchase a paid plan, the applicable pricing, billing period, and features will be described at the point of purchase. Where purchases are made through a third-party app store, that store's payment terms and refund policies also apply. We may change our pricing or plans; we'll give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features you're using.
7. Service availability and changes
We work to keep Oyster available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
8. Disclaimers
Oyster is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You use Oyster at your own risk. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that any calculations, formatting, or outputs are error-free or suitable for your legal or tax obligations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oyster and Pineapple Venture House LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pineapple Venture House LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You can stop using Oyster and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that could cause harm or legal liability. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Pineapple Venture House LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence apply.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Oyster after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
